Michelle Bruggenthies: ACLU Organizer

By Mary Weaver

While attending the meeting with the Siouxland Progressive Women I met Michelle Bruggenthies, the ACLU organizer for Western Iowa, working with the Reproductive Freedom Team.

Michelle is on the ground working to build support for reproductive freedom for all Iowans. This means creating a state where Iowans can control their own bodies and lives and access to abortion is there for all Iowans who may need it.

Her goal is twofold:

1. Get Iowans to sign on to the “We Are the Reproductive Freedom Majority” statement to show elected officials that the majority of Iowans support abortion access. You can find the statement affirming your support for abortion rights here.

2. Grow the ACLU’s volunteer teams across the state. You can sign up to find a team near you or get more information here. Please feel free to reach out to Michelle directly with any questions at (773) 860-7541 or michellebruggenthies@gmail.com.”

As we go forward with this legislative session we need to be ready and armed with facts.
