Learn To Track Legislation
Do you wish you had the knowledge base to identify what your elected State Representative is doing during the legislative session? Do they serve on a committee that piques your values? What is the difference between a study bill and a bill? How do you learn when public hearings will be held? How can you track legislative progress?
Answers to those questions were provided on Thursday, November 18 at 8:00 P.M. via Zoom.
Knowledgeable leaders, Kay Mackey, recently named the Outstanding State Volunteer of the Iowa Democratic Party, and Marti Anderson, a State legislator for 10 years, provided background information available to respond to specific questions.
These two women explained STORM, a network of over 600 people that receives weekly information regarding upcoming legislative issues. The presenters requested that you had your computers/laptops charged and ready to use, as they instructed the participants in “hands-on” use of tracking legislative bills.
