Educational / Informational Meetings

Recently someone asked what type of programs we held for the educational/informational meetings held the third Thursday of every month.
The sessions occur via Zoom the third Thursday of every month at 8:00 P.M. The topics have varied, but always addressing issues that impact women, and their loved ones. Partnerships and hosting have been done with other constituency caucuses and Iowa Democratic groups.
Topics have included the Carbon Dioxide pipelines, abortion rights, Iowa taxes and the state’s budget, gun safety measures, mental health, school voucher program, and LGBTQ+ rights.
The January meeting will focus on teen trafficking in Iowa, February will be a motivational presentation for women from a 3 Star General, native born Iowa girl. The March schedule will focus on public libraries in our communities. In a real long shot for April, we have issued an invitation to Michigan Governor Gretchen Witmer.
Our group session lasts for about one hour. The sessions are usually small enough (12-50 attendees), so direct dialogue may occur with the presenter.
