Women’s Caucus

The elected caucus leaders have been meeting weekly since convention. Sarah Elgatian is the Vice Chairperson, from District 1, and Elizabeth, (Twink)Wearing is the SCC provisional person from District 3. There are currently 1, 155 Facebook members, 66 joining since convention. A new logo depicting the Statue of Liberty, intertwined with the Iowa Democratic Party logo was developed with assistance from IDP staff. It may be seen on the Facebook page, IA Women’s Caucus. The statue of Liberty was chosen, as she was female, and was given to the U.S. by the people of France after the Emancipation of the slaves. She has a broken shackle around her feet, representing Hope and Freedom. Twitter and Instagram pages have been established under Women of Iowa.

We will be using Amy Adams to teach how to successfully write letters to the editor during the month of August.

A theme we are creating is FINDING YOUR VOICE, USING YOUR VOICE.
